Gaurav and Oliver’s Transition Workshop helped me gain more clarity about who I am and what I want in life. With a wonderful group of people we reflected on our life, our inspiration and purpose, our strengths and fears. In several exercises, my favourite was free-flow writing, we shared our thoughts and tried to connect the dots. I am really grateful for this experience and started the new year with more courage, confidence and energy!

THE EYE OF THE SPIRAL

An InTransition Series Workshop:
MEANING & PURPOSE

Life is one fast ride! At least it can feel that way. Our professional and private lives are chock-full of ongoing demands, challenges, and ideally also of fulfilling experiences. Our smart phones keep us connected to a non-stop influx of news, texts and emails. We are multi-tasking and wish we could clone ourselves to get more done. In this mode, we are constantly running to keep up and lose perspective of the bigger picture – What do I want from my life?

Our offer with this workshop: take a time-out. A moment of deep reflection. A chance to take a step back and gain perspective on this stage of your life. Reconnect with yourself and your intuition. Renew your sense of meaning and purpose and create the next stage of your life mindfully.

"The form of a spiral can be found in a myriad of places in nature. Its golden ratio has fascinated us for centuries. Often we hear the vernacular of a ‘downward spiral’ or ‘spiraling out of control’. Instead, we employ this metaphor to focus on the eye of the spiral, the single cell from which the growth of the organism originates. The center of balance, the calm eye around which all movements revolve."

The Next Horizon

You have put in the years and the hard work to earn the right to ask some important questions – What do I want to do next? What do I want from my life in the short-term and the long-term? What drives me?

Asking these questions takes courage and can bring uncertainty, doubts, and present us with tradeoffs. They also contain the kernel for significant possibilities, for it is during these times we c an collect ourselves and set the course for the next phase. To flourish during these times requires us to take a holistic approach that integrates meaning and purpose, the insight of intuition, self-awareness, and choice.

Benefits:

  • GAIN INSIGHT INTO YOUR PURPOSE
  • DEVELOP CLARITY AROUND WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT PHASE OF YOUR LIFE
  • CONNECT WITH YOUR INTUITIVE KNOWING
  • IDENTIFY KEY BELIEF PATTERNS YOU NEED TO TRANSFORM TO MAXIMIZE YOUR POTENTIAL AND LIVE INTO YOUR PURPOSE
  • FIND BALANCE BETWEEN COMPETING PRIORITIES
  • DEEPEN CONNECTION WITH A COMMUNITY ON A SIMILAR JOURNEY

Five principles

Our approach is guided by 5 principles that allow individuals to have breakthrough experiences:

  1. WORK ON ALL ASPECTS OF A TRANSITION
Meaning Quotient (MQ): To learn to engage life from a place of purpose and meaning as meaning is the single biggest source of energy.

Emotional Quotient (EQ): To be aware of and effectively manage one’s own and others’ emotions so that energy generated from MQ is not dissipated in dealing with one’s own and other people’s egos.

Intellectual Quotient (IQ): The ability to channel energy into productive outcomes for oneself, one’s community, and one’s vocation.

Intuitive Quotient (NQ): The ability to tap into intuition to be creative and take calculated risks to break through current paradigms, to expand perspectives and innovate.
  2. CONTEXT SPECIFIC LEARNING
Our experience has taught us that deep learning happens when we bring together a cohort of people asking similar questions. This creates the right environment for the emergence of new possibilities.
  3. ADULT LEARNING
Our entire approach is based on Adult Learning principles of building awareness, choice and continued practice. Our approach to learning is a deeply experiential one that allows participants to move beyond resistance and embrace learning and growth as a way of being. We emphasize learning by doing and through ongoing small group discussions. We also recognize that people have different learning styles and we use visual, auditory and kinesthetic methodologies in our learning programs.
  4. INSIDE OUT
Often the tendency is to focus on the outside world while true breakthroughs happen when we explore the inner world first and through that transform the outer world. The exploration of the inner world transcends intellect and linear thinking. We have a variety of experiential techniques from different realms (theater, spiritual practices, psychology etc.) to create this journey.
  5. SYSTEMS THINKING
People who are adept at dealing with transitions do not just work on themselves, they also need to create a surrounding environment that allows the transition to be successful.

Participating in the Eye of the Spiral weekend workshop with Oliver, Gaurav and the team this year was an amazing experience. I went into the weekend hoping to pick up some new tools to elevate my organizational skills to deal with an array of complex professional projects on my plate. Not only did the workshop help me to develop some specific methods to better organize my professional approach, the Eye of the Spiral team opened my eyes to the connectedness and the synergy between my professional life and my personal life. I had so many “Ah hah!” moments over the course of the weekend, I’m still appreciating them several months later. I’m so thankful for the opportunity provided by the team.
